Designed, developed and built in the U.S. using domestic and globally made parts, the popular, do-it-all Pioneer 700 is improved for the 2026 model year, offering convenience features, more accessory options, and increased storage capacity across multiple trim levels. Boasting exceptional value, and engineered to handle both work and recreation, the Pioneer 700 platform includes six different trim levels, all of which feature a powerful 675cc fuel-injected engine, smooth automatic transmission and long-travel suspension, for a comfortable ride in a variety of applications. Ideal for recreation or tackling chores around the property, the Pioneer 700 is ready for anything.

HISTORY
Originally introduced for the 2014 model year, the Pioneer 700 was the first in Honda's now-expansive Pioneer family of capable rec/utility side-by-sides. From day one, it was offered in two- and four-seat configurations, and Deluxe versions of both were introduced for 2017, with features like aluminum wheels and electric power steering. For 2023, Honda added new Forest trim levels and made important comfort- and convenience-oriented updates across the platform, nearly doubling storage volume, adding tilt steering, redesigning the front-door-mounted beverage holders to hold tumbler-sized cups, and more. Now, the 2026 Pioneer 700 platform is refreshed again, with additional storage capacity across multiple trim levels, plus added convenience features and enhanced vehicle protection.

NEW FOR 2026

  • For all two-seat versions of the Pioneer 700, a pair of new under-bed compartments offer a combined 29.4 liters of storage volume.
  • All trim levels of the Pioneer 700 now feature a pair of under-dash storage areas that hold a total of 10 liters. (Previously, only a single, 3.9-liter compartment was offered, and only on Forest versions.)
  • New sealed USB-C port located in glove box, for charging electronic devices like smart phones.
  • New Kenda Mastodon AT tires offer excellent traction in a variety of trail conditions.
  • New skid plates for increased protection of the vehicle's undercarriage.
  • New front guards offer additional frontal protection.
  • Strengthened ROPS, with thicker tubing in the B-pillar.

TRIM LEVELS
To satisfy the needs of every customer, the Pioneer 700 platform comprises three different trim levels—from the standard to the top-of-the-line Forest—each of which is offered in two-seat and four-seat versions, for a total of six different side-by-sides.

  • Pioneer 700/700-4: The standard version is the most value-oriented option in the line.
  • Pioneer 700/700-4 Deluxe: Improving overall versatility, the Deluxe version features black aluminum wheels, electric power steering, an in-bed 12V outlet and dual bed lights.
  • Pioneer 700/700-4 Forest: To enhance the driving experience on the trail, the Forest is outfitted with an extended-coverage front bumper, a 4,500-pound Warn winch and dual bed lights. Plus, the Forest trim level includes TrueTimber® Atera camo, a pattern that's exclusive to Honda in the powersports industry.

DESIGN / STYLING
The Pioneer 700 platform stands apart thanks to several comfort-, convenience- and style-focused features, as well as Honda's renowned fit and finish, while the vehicle styling enhances its presence and appeal.

Four-seat Pioneer 700-4 versions retain the same overall dimensions as the two-seat trim levels, preserving agility without sacrificing capacity. The four-seat versions feature Honda's QuickFlip seating system, allowing quick transitions between two-, three-, or four-person configurations; when arranged in the two-person setup, the rear seats stow away neatly to provide full use of the cargo bed. Designed with practicality in mind, the bed has a dump function for easy unloading of dirt or feed, and to facilitate hassle-free cleaning.

The Pioneer 700 platform offers exceptional storage capacity, including a pair of under-dash compartments holding a total of 10 liters. New for 2026, two-seat versions of the Pioneer 700 feature a pair of under-bed compartments that hold 14.7 liters each (29.4 liters total); the compartments have tabs to allow the addition of padlocks for security. A spacious glove box is also provided, and it houses a new, sealed USB-C port for charging devices like smart phones. Total storage capacity is 50.5 liters for two-seat models, and 20.5 liters for four-seat models.

A tilt steering wheel enhances driver comfort and simplifies vehicle ingress and egress. Front-door-mounted beverage holders easily accept tumbler-size vessels, and a large dash meter offers excellent visibility. The Deluxe and Forest versions feature a pair of 12-volt accessory receptacles (one in the dash and one in the bed)—perfect for powering devices like food warmers, coolers or air compressors.

For 2026, the Pioneer 700 family features enhanced protection, with redesigned skid plates, new front guards and a tougher ROPS with thicker tubing in the B-pillar.

Deluxe and Forest trims offer premium enhancements like Electric Power Steering with torque assist, as well as painted plastic for a durable finish, and a return-to-center steering-wheel feature. These versions also come standard with black aluminum wheels for a premium touch and dual bed lights for added visibility in low-light conditions. The Forest trim levels also come in TrueTimber Atera Camo and include a 4,500-pound-capacity Warn winch for rugged utility.

Side-by-side enthusiasts tend to prioritize personalizing their vehicles, and Honda offers an expanded line of accessories, including a snowplow, a Honda-branded winch, a GPS unit, fender flares, a Bluetooth speaker, a tip-out windshield, a wiper-washer kit, a floor-storage unit, a bed light and more, enabling owners to tailor the Pioneer 700 to specific tasks or terrain. The dashboard houses pre-wired switches and a wire harness to simplify installation of electronic accessories.

ENGINE / DRIVETRAIN
The heart of the Pioneer 700 is its proven 675cc fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, overhead-valve, single-cylinder four-stroke engine, which is mounted longitudinally for maximum drivetrain efficiency.

This engine is paired with an automotive-style automatic transmission featuring a hydraulic torque converter, three forward gears and reverse, delivering smooth and responsive performance across varied terrain. For added versatility, the Forest and Deluxe versions give the driver a pair of mode options for changing gears: fully automatic and manual electric-shift. When in automatic, the system can be overridden on the fly using the convenient paddle shifters mounted on the steering column, giving the driver full control when needed, ideal for tackling challenging conditions or for fine-tuning performance.

CHASSIS / SUSPENSION
Occupying a middle ground in Honda's rec-utility side-by-side lineup—between the Pioneer 500 and Pioneer 1000 platforms—the Pioneer 700 is capable of carrying loads and passengers, but also of navigating in tight spaces, all while offering a comfortable ride. It's developed to haul up to 1,000 pounds and tow up to 1,500 pounds, yet it remains compact and maneuverable enough to navigate tight trails and job sites.

The long-travel suspension (7.9 inches up front and 9.1 inches in the rear) delivers a smooth, comfortable ride. Hydraulic disc brakes (a pair of 200mm discs up front, a single 170mm disc at the rear) offer strong, predictable stopping performance.

New for the 2026 model year, the Pioneer 700 platform comes standard with do-it-all Kenda Mastodon AT tires, which feature an aggressive, open tread design for good clean-out performance in muddy conditions. Boasting a radial eight-ply-rated casing, these tires provide optimal puncture resistance and an ultra-smooth ride.
